A tweet by the Union Tradition Ministry on Friday paying tributes to the late M.S.Golwalkar on his delivery anniversary, calling him a “nice thinker, scholar and noteworthy chief”, led to a political slugfest with opposition leaders and civil society teams questioning why the federal government was glorifying him.

The tweet was met with criticism from Opposition leaders like Shashi Tharoor and Gaurav Gogoi.
