A Tradition Ministry official stated on Saturday that the Ministry represented aspirations of all sections of society and didn’t consider in silencing any ideology, a day after a tweet by the Ministry’s official deal with paying tribute to Hindutva ideologue M.S. Golwalkar stirred controversy.
The Ministry had tweeted a photograph of Golwalkar on Friday, his start anniversary, accompanied by the textual content: “Remembering an awesome thinker, scholar, and noteworthy chief #MSGolwalkar on his start anniversary. His ideas will stay a supply of inspiration & proceed to information generations.”
Opposition leaders, together with Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, had criticised the Ministry for the tweet.
The media advisor to Tradition Minister Prahlad Singh Patel, Nitin Tripathi, stated in a tweet on Saturday: “India is most culturally numerous nation on the earth and an epitome of multiculturalism. Ministry of Tradition represents the aspirations of each part of society and don’t consider in silencing any ideologies or voices which isn’t the a part of conventional narrative.”
In a second tweet, Mr Tripathi stated, “Distinctive socio-cultural traits, customs, traditions and units of values should be revered in any respect price and this has been one of many important components of the democracy like India since ages.”
