LOS ANGELES (AP) — Fred Segal, a notable Los Angeles-based celeb style retailer, died Thursday. He was 87. Segal’s publicist mentioned Friday that he died from the issues of a stroke at a Santa Monica hospital. His firm web site counts the Beatles, Diana Ross, Elvis Presley and Farrah Fawcett as his earliest followers. The Los Angeles Instances reported that Segal opened his first store in West Hollywood in 1961, the place he offered denim denims and flannel and velvet ensembles.
