Music Director Cynthia Woods will conduct the orchestra, with accompanying unique dance choreography led by Gianni Gino Di Marco.
Impressed by the plot of Charles Perrault’s fairy story, Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Magnificence” is a magical story in music and dance first carried out on the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1890. Tchaikovsky’s expertise is totally on show on this rating, with a wealth of melodies, nice rhythmic vitality, charming character dance items and wealthy orchestration.
Tchaikovsky was supremely happy together with his enchanting achievement, writing that “the music from this ballet shall be amongst my finest works. The topic is so poetical, it’s so suited to music, that in composing it I used to be completely absorbed, and wrote with a fervor and fervour which all the time lead to work of benefit.”
The CSO rises to the event with an unique, digital manufacturing filmed on the Fairmont Copley Plaza Grand Ballroom, with CSO musicians performing the music from their houses within the fashion of our Vacation Pops 2020 occasion.
